Jannatul Baqi 1

Jannatul Baki,

* Do you know the remaining history of Jannatul Baki? If you don't know, I can tell you about my visit and describe it.

*How is the history of this place related to Jannatul Baqi

Jannatul Mualla is the graveyard of Makkah Mukarrama, and Jannatul Baki is the graveyard of Medina Munawara al-baqi cemetery  . Its original name is ‘Baquil Garkad’. Hazrat Uthman Ibn Majoon RA, the foster brother of Hazrat PBUH, lived in Madinah.

The Companions then asked the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, where he would be buried.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘I have been ordered to bury him in Baqu’l Garqad.’ (Mustadrake Hakim, Kh.11 p.193). This is how Allah chose this place for the cemetery. And here lies the first (foster brother of the Prophet) Hazrat Uthman Ibn Majoon RA.

Then the cemetery expanded on all three sides, and today it spreads over a large area. Jannatul Baki is located to the east of Masjid Nabbi. Initially, the Khadems of Nabbi lived with their descendants in Madjid in a mohalla named ‘Hartut Dagwat’ between Madjid Nabbi and the rest.

This mohalla shifted to another place during the renovation of Masjid al-Nababi in 1405 AH. Now people use this place as the balcony of the Prophet’s Mosque, and at the end of it stand the four walls of the Prophet’s Mosque. Then a road called ‘Abu Zar’ leads to it.

Then Jannatul rises after considerable height. A high boundary surrounds the cemetery, with a large gate on the west side. A wide staircase leads to the cemetery.

* My One Day in Jannatul Baqi

jannatul baqi

Arrived in Madinah on Thursday afternoon, then performed Zuhr and Asr prayers and entered Jannatul Baqi in the afternoon.

This is the first time in my life that I have come here. I got emotional after seeing Jannatul Baqi. The beloved Companions of the Messenger are resting here. It brings tears to my eyes to think that many dear people are resting here, including Ammajan Ayesha (RA).

Then I left before the evening. The next morning, I performed the Fajr prayer again and entered Jannatul Baqi because I was enchanted by this land and wanted to spend my whole life here  al-baqi cemetery

* Allah's Messenger (PBUH) prayed for forgiveness for the people buried in the graves of Jannatul Baqi.

Gabriel, peace be upon him, began to say to me, ‘Your Lord is commanding you: You will go to (Jannatul) the rest of the people and pray for forgiveness for them.’ (Sahih Muslim, Hadith No-973) Hazrat Ayesha agreed. Narrated by her,

she said, ‘The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to get up almost at the end of the night and leave for rest while he was with me on the allotted days. He said: O believing townspeople! Peace be upon you. Tomorrow you get what you were promised. You delay (for the Hour). Inshallah! We are also meeting you soon. al-baqi cemetery

O Allah! Forgive the people of Baqi.’ Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Omar Razi narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘On the Day of Resurrection, the first person whose earth will crack will be me. Then Abu Bakr RA, then Umar Razi, then the rest. I will come next to Ahle Baqi. They will join me. Then I will wait for the Makkans.

They will meet me at the place between Makkah and Madinah.’ (Sunan at-Tirmidhi, Hadith no-3625; Mustadrake Hakim, Hadith no-3691)

Hazrat Umm Qays bint Muhsin copied this narration of the Prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam: ‘On the Day of Resurrection, seventy thousand people will rise from their graves in such a way that their faces will shine like the full moon of the fourteenth night. And all these people will enter Paradise without reckoning.’ (Mustadrake Hakim, Hadith No-7035) ,, visit here
